Our work was to stick posters in the airport to promote "BANGALORE FUN OLYMPICS 2008".
An olympics for the airport authorities and the staffs viz gonna held every 4 years from now....
The journey to the airport might not have been such a comfortable one... but i have to admit... the roads did take my breath away... brilliant roads and not to forget the long flyover that's leads to the BIAL.. unfortunately.. this is a no stop zone.. so.. cudn stop n click any pics.. finally we reached BIAL... "BENGALURU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LIMITED"... was a brilliant sight...but it still needed a finishing touch..
I haven been to the new airport.. so was excited by my unexpected visit.. this airport is unlike the old one.. It has ample parking space and well maintained. After gettin our official passes to the terminal.. we entered the terminal building..from the back door at first we weren allowed to enter without our id's.. and the passes we had with us were of no good cos of the chaos caused by the bomb blasts a week earlier.. then after the persuasion of the chief and a couple of phone calls to the airport authority we were finally given authorized entrance into the BIAL.. was good.. centralizes AC's and nice back room offices of the different airlines... we went into every office and stuck our posters. with the duck tapes we had carried..after finish off with the ground staff... we went into the check in counters.. and my word... its huge.... and well maintained and naturally well lit...
On the ground floor.. there were the CCD and on the first floor.. Barista... but barista dominated wen it comes to business.. then.. went around sticking posters in the immigration.. and almost all the departments in the airpore...and also talkin to all important personnel in the airport while goin bout our work....they were nice & very humble.. to put it in a simple way. TRUE INDIANS...
Now comes the best part..we were taken to the tarmac.. which housed all the scheduled flights.. was a brilliant sight. just loved it.. the above picture is taken with me.. standing in front of the "ROSENBAUER".. these are the fire hydrins that run on the airport when there is any mishap... considering its weight. it can go upto speeds of 150 kmph and costs 2.5 crores..and can hold bout 8k liters of water.. brilliant aint it..? (forgot to get the picture of its dashboard.) then stuck poster in the airports fire department.. and paved our way back..
This is probably the only time in the near future that ill be heading to the airport.I mean.. for a guy who hasn even stepped into a flight... got a chance to get into the airport and check out all the places inside and get to know bout its functioning...I must say.. it was my lucky day.. was something astonishshing.. and also gettin to all the nooks and corners of the vast airport.... whew.. to be very honest with you people. I hadn imagined that i would get a chance like this. I will always save this day..
